Thursday In Wisconcin

A huge day today. I thought about what Gabriella posted on my blog yesterday, and also about how out of place I have felt at times here at the festival, and I realised that I've not really let myself go since I've been here. I like what I've done, and I've taken on some new challenges and pushed myself hard. But today I decided to get out there and paint for me. So I did the red barn this morning and the 10 x 30 closeup this afternoon. The weather was a little less punishing although still in the 90s and I had no shade for either painting but they were really enjoyable and I felt a sense of urgency and determination as I did them.
At 4pm I had to leave the north end of the peninsula and drive to my assigned painting for the day which was another barn which is also on a 10 x 30 panel but it still needs work so I'll finish that tomorrow after I frame everything that I've done this week to hang in the exhibition which opens tomorrow night.

  2. Just lovely. I smile and think, "yep, that's Mat", I can stare for hours and see the passionate artist that's in you. Thanks for that.
