Day three in Wisconcin

so today was a day that was prettty much planned out for me. I was to spend all day in Sister Bay. Consequently I spent WAY too much time on a watercolour of the corner of a department store in record breaking temperatures. Its another tight painting, which should havetaken three hours but took five. Still needs a little something in the flower bucket.
Then I walked down to the beach and immersed myself in the lake with all my clothes on.

Then all 40 of us were gathered in the cental park to paint at sunset while the festival's patrons and sponsors wined and dined in a big tent and asked questions as we painted. I worked on a large wash drawing until it got too dark to see. I have to put tone on the extreme foreground still.

  1. Wow, super tight. Its strange to see this from you. No drips or splashes...very interesting and can I say lovely. Do you feel its you?

  2. Certainly not the usual kind of me, but a careful, perhaps sightly reserved kind of me. Painting in a group of 40 with t shirts on saying "come and watch" on our backs makes it a little different from painting alone with casual passers by stopping to peek.
